Like Father...Like Son

Jacob, just like his dad, doesn't like to do anything "normal"...not even bath time...

More Summer Fun

A Visit From Hungary

In August, we had some of Ian's relatives visit from Hungary. We stayed with them when we were in Hungary and it was nice to see them again and introduce them to Jacob. Amid many sightseeing trips, we managed to get together with them (and the rest of the Hanzeli clan) at a BBQ at Nana and Papa's. Jacob was a big hit and he didn't seem to mind the extra cuddles either : )

Jacob hangin' with Ian's cousin Gyozo and his girlfriend Anna. Anna was pretty fond of Jacob. Gyozo might have some competition.

Jacob and Daniel fighting over strawberries as Agi tries desperately to keep the bowl out of Jacob's reach. Sorry kiddo...no strawberries yet : (

Finally the whole Hanzeli clan...well almost. Ian and his cousin Trevor were in Spokane visiting Gonzaga (Go Bulldogs!) and another cousin, Alex, was busy too. Only three missing...not bad.

A Visit from Belgium...Rome...San Diego...Tucson?

In early September, we had some very good friends, the Andersons, come into town from...well, just about everywhere. They used to live in Issaquah, but over the years they've all moved away : (. Justin got married last May to a wonderful Belgian woman named Delphine and the family were all in town to celebrate the wedding with their Seattle friends. It was also a lot of fun to introduce Jacob to the Andersons. We had such a great time meeting Delphine and her brothers and we are so truly happy for Justin.

The day after the party, we took everybody out on Lake Washington for some cruising and tubing. We were a little worried about how Jacob would do on the boat, especially because there were a lot of really big waves that day. Jacob decided to put all our fears to rest though by laughing as we bounced over the big waves and, shortly after we started, passing out on Mom's lap, life jacket and all. In fact, his biggest complaint that day was the bright sun (see the pictures) so we kept his hat completely over his eyes. Thanks Kate for the pictures. We miss you!

"Hey, who turned on the lights?"

"Still too bright out here!"

Eventually he burrowed himself into his life jacket. I think he looks like a little turtle trying to hide from the sun.
