Oh the games we play......

Jacob did this today for ten minutes after dinner. The best part is under the first pillow is his trains (his favorate toy) After every jump he checked on them to make sure they were ok.

new addition to the family

Karoly Marie Hanzeli was born on Sunday the 12th at 10:26am. Robin & Karoly were very thoughtful of others as I asked her to wait till the end of the week and our friend Mike wanted her to wait till Sunday so I could help with a yard project of his. She was born at Group Health in Seattle, coming out perfectly at 6 lb 5oz and 19 inches long. Both she and mom are doing very well.

Catchin' up...again

I know I said awhile ago that I was going to try to be better with keeping things up to date on the blog. Obviously, I've failed miserably. However, I finally got a bunch of pictures off the camera so here we go with one more try.
In March, we took a little family vacation to Ocean Shores. Now, I know you're probably thinking that we had completely lost our minds visiting the coast in March, and trust me, the weather that weekend was terrible and we weren't able to get out to the beach to let Jacob run around. However, the beach has never been the reason we make a yearly trip to Ocean Shores.
Nope, that honor falls to the food, or more specifically to the dessert, at a little Irish pub called Galloway Bay. They have the most amazing caramel whiskey sauce ever which they happen to serve over a yummy bread pudding. According to Ian, dessert alone is worth a drive to Ocean Shores and back. While the food is amazing, I tend to like a weekend away too.
Anyway, with the weather being awful, Jacob got to spend a good amount of time with Daddy in the hotel pool. He absolutely loves the water, though he still won't let us turn him over onto his back. By the time the weekend was over, he was getting pretty good at dog-paddling and kicking. Of course, his favorite game was to get out of the pool, walk around with me to the deep end, and "jump" to Daddy. We tried hard to teach him to actually jump, but he stubbornly refused. Apparently, he prefers to sit down at the ladder and wait for Ian to throw him up in the air before splashing him down into the water. Maybe, we'll have better luck this summer.

Jacobs New Trick

So last night Jacob showed us his new trick. He proved to us that yes, he can climb out of his crib! Doing a pull up on the side rail, he swings his leg over and slides over the rail. The amazing part is that he can do it very very fast, and perfectly silent. So today his bed was upgraded from crib, to toddler bed!

Here i am giving it a test nap!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jacob would like to say "Happy Valentine's Day!" to all his friends and family.

He had a great time decorating cookies. Surprisingly, though he only had a small bowl of M&Ms to begin with, most of the candy actually made it onto the cookies instead of into his mouth.
